Memorial Cup and Real Estate?

memcupgame5win.jpgI know exactly what your thinking, "what does the Memorial Cup and real estate have in common?" Well to be truthful not a whole lot, however for me this past week it had a lot in common.  You see I was a volunteer at this years tournament.  I spent a great deal of time working at the event, in fact one could argue that it consumed my life for the entire 10 days of the event.

I am lucky enough to work on a great team of real estate agents here at Team Andruff who allowed me the time to be away from real estate to be involved in this hockey tournament.

As for the tournament.  I can give you a bit of insight into some of the behind the scenes stuff.  My role at the tournament was a Team Services supervisor. I had a team of volunteers that were responsible for anything that the teams were looking for.  We worked directly with the trainers and coaches of the four competing teams.  I can tell you this, all the players, coaches and trainers at this tournament were all fantastic.  For those of you who were not aware of the format for the Memorial Cup four teams from the three CHL  divisions OHL Champion Plymouth Whalers, the QMJHL Champion Lewiston MAINEiacs, the WHL champion Medicine Hat Tigers and the host team Vancouver Giants all fight for the chance to hoist the Memorial Cup trophy.

There are many standout moments for me, meeting Gordie Howe, getting the chance to talk hockey with Pat Quinn and of course the Giants winning the Memorial Cup.  Now that I have that out of my system it's time for me to get back to my other passion and that helping people find that perfect home.

Oh ok one more thing GO SENS GO!!
