2005 Year of the Veteran
The Government of Canada has declared 2005 the Year of the Verteran, to commemorate the 60th Anniversary of the end of World War Two and to honour all our Verterans.
Services for Remembrance Day, Nov. 11th:
Cenotaph, Victory Square, Downtown Vancouver:
10:00 am, Assemble at the Square, for a Parade of Veterans, bands and military marching units
10:30 am - Cenotaph Service.
War Memorial Gym, UBC (6081 University Blvd, beside the bus loop)
10:45 am - Ceremonies (held inside the gym)
Vancouver Maritime Museum: Remembrance Day Exhibit
This exhibit runs from October 15, 2005 to the end of December, 2005, and illustrates Canada's contribution to the war effort in the First and Second World Wars.
