Wood Flooring

New Flooring?

Are you thinking it's time to remove the old carpets from your living room and dining room?

A past client just asked me about replacing their carpet with "wood" instead.  There are so many choices now, including premium or standard "site-finished" (hardwood),  prefinished wood (laminate), country style plank, engineered floating, engineered glue-down, exotic floors, bamboo, cork, leather floors (!!!).  Don't forget about the sound barrier systems..and check out if your strata has rules on whether or not wood floors are permitted.

What is the short story?  In my experience, solid wood floors seem to be the preferred choice.  This also seems to be the same opinion for most "real estate buyers" that I have met.  However, personal taste and budget are really, really big factors in choosing new flooring.  Best to ask the experts.  To get started, try a visit to Home Depot or Revy.   BC Hardwood (www.bchardwood.com) has an excellent web site to find out more info, or visit them at 3594 Main Street in Vancouver, BC.

PS...

If you are interested in the trendy wide plank look, see www.wideplanehardwood.com... And visit their showroom located in Chilliwack, BC.
