The Vancouver Real Estate Board of Greater Vancouver reported on January 4, 2005 is a record-shattering year for number of properties changing hands and property price increases. In 2005 the number of sales transactions are recorded at 40,530, 10.8% higher than 2004 and 7.2% higher than 2003 (previous record).

- Apartment prices hit $309,679...a 17.7% rise from a year ago!
- Townhouse prices hit $401,476...a 26.6% rise from a year ago!
